Orth castle - Schloss Orth
Castle Orth or Schloss Ort is located in Orth, near Gmunden town, Upper Austria. The castle has a unique location on the bank of the lake Traunsee. The castle was built around 1080 by Hartnidus of Ort and was named after the Ort family owning the castle for long.

The museum is located in the Castle of Orth , On the 2nd floor with an area of about 700sqm.The basic idea for the museumORTH is to create an idea of the town and its community "Photo Album" for all generations and people that are interested. The staging area pursues the principle of a visual information medium, as a three dimentional "photo magazine".
Also for children there is much to see, especially in the children's corner, where there are many small stools carved from wood that hide secrets, which the children can discover.
In the north-west tower, 2-3 times a year changing exhibitions are held. With the active support of Orth´s beekeeping association, there is presented a swarm of living bees in a showcase, with a trip hole in the tournament yard. Opening times: The beginning of Spring to All Saints' Day daily from 11 am to 6pm (October to 5pm)
