Black Sea Coast rural tourism
The southern part of the region, where Strandzha Mountains reach the Black Sea, keeps the old pagan tradition of fire dancing in the beginning of June. History is alive in the ancient towns of Sozopol and Nessebar with their churches, fortresses, ports and preserved ambience. Zheravna, Kotel and Sliven are interesting for their vernacular architecture, which has been preserved for more than two centuries. Nessebar old church Kotel is well known for its traditions in carpet weaving and Zheravna is a national architectural reserve. In the villages of Brashlyan, Vozenkovo, Evrenozovo, Stoilovo, Medven, Ichera and Zheravna rural tourism is offered in combination with mountain biking, leisure walking and nature observation. |
