Boldogkõváralja
Towering over the surrounding region, the Boldogkõ Castle is the pre-eminent feature of the settlement. The oldest part of the castle is the Old Tower, built in the 13th century. The castle was extended in the 14th century with the addition of the palace and the triangular tower; it acquired its present form in the 15th century. Each year, at the beginning of August, an “Age of Chivalry” pageant is held to popularise the castle’s traditions.  Castle in Boldogkovaralja Another popular tourist attraction is the baroque style, Péchy-Zichy Mansion, built in 1786. Its more than 2500 sq m floor plan, make this U-shaped mansion the third largest in the county. It currently serves as a remedial children’s home, which can only be visited with prior permission.
