Ethnographic Museum This building was built between 1893 and 1896, based on the plans of Alajos Hauszmann; it housed the Supreme Court until 1945. The palace’s many featured, ornamental main façade, fronts Kossuth Square; it is one of the most beautiful examples of Late-Eclectic architecture in our country. Initially the Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galéria) was established in this building, however this was later transferred to the Royal Palace; since then only collections belonging to the Ethnographic Museum are exhibited here.
