Nagycenk Mansion
Located in Western Transdanubia region, 12 km south of Sopron, Nagycenk’s main attraction is the Széchenyi Mansion. The mansion was the former home of the Széchenyi family. István Széchenyi was an outstanding nineteenth-century Hungarian reformer. The central part of the mansion was built in the 1760-s. The present form of the mansion is mainly the result of alteration and enlargement between 1832 and 1840. The mansion is open to the public and houses István Széchenyi Memorial Museum, now. There is a Railway Museum in Nagycenk and a narrow-gauge railway line leading to neighbouring village of Ferődoboz. Széchenyi Mansion in Nagycenk |
