Sárvár Castle
The small town of Sárvár is located in the western part of Hungary, in the Western Transdanubia Region, about 30 km east of Szombathely. Sárvár’s main tourist attraction is the Nádasdy castle. The castle was probably built in the 16th century in the Italian Renaissance style. The two-storey pentagonal castle has large Italian bastions and a barbican tower. The castle functioned as a fortification and also as a noble residence. The castle houses the Nádasdy Museum, now.
