Ventspils
Located in the north-west of part of Latvia, about 190 kilometers from Riga, Ventspils is a modern city with a busy industrial port. Ventspils’ historic center is small and can easily be explored on foot. The main tourist attraction of the town is the restored Livonian Order Castle, which was built in the 13th century and it houses the city museum, now.
In the Open Air Ethnographic Museum old fishing boats, tools and houses are presented. During the summer months, the most popular spot is the city beach, which has a dedicated naturist zone as well as a surfing area.
