Orhei

Orhei is an open-air museum in Moldova Republic, in the Raut River Valley, about 60 km from Chisinau. Orhei (officially called Museum Complex of Medieval Town of Orhei) presents the remains of different civilizations established between the Nistru and Prut rivers.

The remnants of Geto-Dacian settlement (V - III c. BC), ruins of Sheihr-of Gedid Tartar town (XIII-XIV centuries) and the ruins of Medieval Town of Orhei (XV century) can be found in the museum. On the cliffs, St. Maria Dormata cave monastery was built. Orhei museum is open daily (9-18), except Mondays.
