Nikšić

The second largest city in the country of Montenegro is Nikšić after Podgorica. The city is at the foot of the Trebjesa hill. It is a historic center for industrial, cultural and educational success.
The town of Nikšić has a well conditioned road network linking the town with the rest of Montenegro. The main road network is the E762 motor way which links the town with the largest town in Montenegro that is Podgorica. The town also connects by road network to neighboring countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tourists can board buses at the new bus station in the city and every trip starts or ends at the bus station.
Another means of entry into the town is via air. Tourists alight at the Podgorico Airport that is 43 miles way from Nikšić. The airport has flights leading to all destinations around Europe. Some of the destinations include Sarajevo, Paris, Vienna and Rome. There are frequent buses to transport travelers to the city.
The Monastery of Ostrog is a sacred sanctuary located in the vicinity of Niksic. Tourists throng the shrine to view this piece Orthodox shrine.
Another sporting venue is the Nikšić Sports Center.  The facility can hold 3000 fans and provides amenities for other sporting games such as swimming, bowling, tennis and futsal. A trip to the sports center is about 15 minutes from the city center, and entertainment is abundant.
For ski lovers, the Vucje ski resort situated 18 km away from the city center provides the perfect venue for winter sports. In fact, the ski resort contributed immensely to the citizens of Niksic preference of winter sports as recreation.
Travelers with preference for recreation are in for a treat at the three large artificial lakes located near the city. The lakes are Krupac Lake, Slano Lake and the Vrtac Lake. These lakes provide an excellent recreation haven for tourists and local inhabitants.
Travers can enjoy fast foods at the Camelot restaurant which offers pizza, barbecue and ice-cream. It has unique decorations on its walls and a convenient location at the heart of the city center.
The city of Niksic offers a pleasant and fantastic nightlife. The clubs and open bars provide an excellent choice of music and smashing beer. One of the popular clubs is the London club. It offers an exceptional selection of music to revelers. Other popular clubs include the New York night club and the Hacijenda. What is unique about the two clubs is ambiance- providing a cozy atmosphere.
Accommodation is in abundance for travelers and tourists ranging from basic rental rooms to luxury five star hotels. Examples of hotels near the city include the Hotel sindcel, motel Trebjesa and hotel Onogost which is the only hotel located in the city centre. Apart from these luxurious hotels, travelers can get accommodation from the local habitants who rent their rooms at discount prices.
