Rijeka Crnojevica

Rijeka Crnojevica is a small town that is situated in Central Montenegro. It was established as a result of the ancient trade that was being carried out around the area a couple of centuries ago. The town maybe small, but this does not mean that is boring and lacks facilities. In fact, it has just about everything you may require in your stay there.
The town is accessed via road. That means to get to it, you have to drive or take a bus. If you are using the latter, you will have to take a bus that plies the Podgorica Budva route. You should then alight at the road diversion to Rijeka Crnojevica and a walk along the road should land you another bus that is going to take you directly to the town.

If you require accommodation, then you would be pleased to learn that the town has a large hotel and a couple of motels where you can find good accommodation at a reasonable price. If you are the adventurous type of person, you can choose to camp as there are many ideal spots to do so.
There are also plenty of interesting sites to visit. Most of them are historical sites, putting in mind that this town lies in an area that was once a trade route. You are for example going to notice bits of the ancient roads that were used during the trade. Along with this, the town has also a spectacular ancient bridge that you definitely ought to check out during your stay there.
There are also few ancient fortresses within the outskirts of the town. They are currently abandoned and are believed to have been inns and resting places for people who took part in the trade.
One of the most interesting aspects of this town is the fact that is very near to Lake Skadar. It is a large beautiful lake where you can enjoy canoe rides, fishing and even swimming. If you are a reptile enthusiast, you will also love the wide range of snakes that you are going to see by the shore and in the lake. They are completely harmless and therefore, they are not going to harm you at all when you handle them or as you swim.
Finally, the cuisine around this town is good. You are easily going to find food that fits your dietary needs.
