Sutomore

Located in the southern part of Montenegro, in Bar Municipality, about 10 km northwest from the town of Bar, Sutomore is a small coastal town and a popular holiday resort. It has a 2km long sandy beach, which is quite crowded during summer months.

The most important cultural monument in Sutomore is St Tekla Church, which was built in the 8th century. There are the remnants of two former Venetian fortresses on the hilltop above the town.

Sutomore has a favorable geographic location: it is only half-hour-long way, either by train or by car, from Podgorica and is the starting point of the tunnel crossing the Skadar Lake with coastal part of Montenegro.
