Zabljak
Montenegro boasts of a small northern town called Zabljak known as the center of winter tourism in the country. The town is the largest on the Durmitor Mountain. The town has a high altitude of 1,450 meters up an exceedingly appealing destination for tourists. In case tourists want to enter the town, they can do so by plane. The Podgorica International airport is the main airport, and it is nearly 170 km away from the town. The airport has regular flights to leading destinations around Europe. A few of the destinations include Budapest, Frankfurt, Paris and Rome just to name a few. Apart from air transport, road transport via bus is another viable option. Travelers can board a bus from Podgorica, and the trip to abljak is about 1-2 hours. Car drivers heading to abljak can deviate from the road heading to Serbia at Mojkovac and take the road to Zabljak. Another alternative is taking the road that goes through Podgorica, then Savnik then finally Zabljak. The roads are curvy and steep, so drivers should maintain an average speed limit.
Visit, the Tara Canyon, regarded as the deepest canyon in Europe. It provides a fantastic rafting experience. Use a boat or wooden raft when going for rafting. In the process, tourists can view the Ljutice falls, the Tara Bridge and the Lever Tara. Ski lovers can go for skiing on the slopes of the Durmitor Mountain. The snow lasts for about four months. The best slopes include the Savin kuk, Štuoc and Javorovača.

The Savin kuk integrates two chairlifts, both ski lift and nursery lift and a ski service. Another sporting activity is snowboarding. Various competitions characterized by enthusiast gatherings take place at Durmitor Mountain. The scenery is out of this world. In fact, during the rafting tour, rafters get served with either lunch or dinner.
The local inhabitants sell healthy foods that tourist can have. abljak is the ideal place to buy legitimate Montenegrin healthy food. The town has some quality, national cuisine restaurants. They include the Katun restaurant, the MB motel-restaurant, and the Momčilov grad. The restaurants provide the smoked ham and dried bleak. Other outstanding courses characterized for the region include the boiled lamb, buttered corn porridge and fresh cream.
Do not worry about accommodation because abljak offers abundant accommodation. There are four main excellent hotels for travelers. The four include the Planinka, Jezera, abljak hotel and Durmitor hotel. Apart from the four, there are other small motels namely the MB and the Bjeloor. Another notable aspect is the willingness of the local inhabitants to rent rooms at competitive prices.
