This year will be the 20th jubilee of the festival and it will give children especially, the most pleasure. X1 Festival Jičín – the Town of Fairy Tales X1 M1 takes place in an area with a rich fairytale history and you can visit it from 7th to 12th September 2010.

The organisers have prepared a varied programme for this year’s jubilee. Every day is devoted to a famous Czech literary celebrity, with whom fairytale figures will come to life in various parts of Jičín. This time writers who also wrote stories for children will be honoured, Karel Jaromír Erben, Božena Němcová, brothers Josef and Karel Čapek, Jan Werich, Václav Čtvrtek and Josef Štefan Kubín. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of theatre performances, story reading and song singing. They will also be able to experience concerts at which performers will entertain the youngest children as well as their parents.
