StarGarden Festival 2010
In the summer of 2010, StarGarden, the festival organised by the Sziget Szervezőiroda (Island Organisation Office) is going to unite the legends of international music life and the Hungarian pop-rock classics both in space and time. The legendary bands that will attend the next large-scale festival of the Island Organisation Office at one single weekend have sold hundreds of millions of records and have written hits that are known worldwide. At the first sumer weekend (4-5 June) the Puskás Ferenc Stadium garden will host – among others - the Deep Purple, the Animals once again featuring Eric Burdon, Kool and the Gang, noted as the world’s number-one funky band, Blood Sweat and Tears, the most important band of timeless jazz-rock music, and John Mayall, known as the father of British blues. The Hungarian side of Stargarden, which is to be launched this year, is also going to be colourful. The event will be attended by Omega, the most prominent band of Hungarian rock history and the best known in Europe, Korál, one of the most popular rock bands in the 1970s and 1980s as well as Ákos, who is definitely the most popular Hungarian pop star in the 1990s and who is giving his only Budapest concert this year at Stargarden in June. However, StarGarden is not only a festival for legends, but it is also a culinary fiesta offering selected gastro-Hungaricums, prominent wine-makers and well-known pálinka makers.
