Domica Cave

Located in south Slovakia, Domica is the largest cave in Slovak Karst region. The cave was washed out by the waters of the subterranean River Styx and Domica. Under the name of Baradla, Domica cave continues into the territory of Hungary, as part of the Aggtelek National Park.

In 1932, 1315 meters of the cave were opened to the public. Domica cave is famous for its onion-shaped stalactites and the pagoda-like stalagmites. Along with 11 other caves of the Slovak Karst, Domica Cave was included on UNESCO World Heritage List in 1995.
