Slovak Karst National Park
The intricate system with 400 caves in the Slovak Karst National Park stretches over the largest karst area in Central Europe. Some of the best-known caves open to the public are Domica Cave, Ochtinská Aragonite Cave, Jasov Cave and Gombasecká Cave. Krasnahorska Cave can only be visited in the company of an expert guide. In 1995 twelve typical caves and abysses in the Slovak Karst region were included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Another local cave - Dobsina Ice Cave - was added in the year of 2000.
