Postojna Cave
Situated in southwestern part of Slovenia, Postojna cave is the largest cave in the ’classic karst’ and one of the most visited caves in Europe. Postojna cave is a network of 20 kilometers of cave system with passages, galleries and chambers. The most interesting tunnels were discovered in 1818; the next year the cave was opened to the public.  Postojna cave In 1872 railway lines were laid; in 1884 the electricity was installed into the cave. Postojna cave has beautiful formations of stalagmites, stalactites, flowstones resulting from deposits of calcium carbonate.
