Snežnik castle is considered as one of the best preserved castles in Slovenia. Snežnik Castle is situated in southwest part of Slovenia, at the bottom of the Loška dolina valley. The first written documents to the castle dates back to1269. In spite of long periods of war during the subsequent centuries, the castle has preserved its image and furnishing.
The three storey castle is closed, now due to extensive renovations. The neighbouring Dormouse Museum is still open to visitors.
