  • Some of the most impressive hotels in Europe

Some of the most astonishing hotels can be found in Europe and some are unlike anything you have ever seen or will see. Whether it’s their luxury or innovative design that draws you in, the quality of these European hotels will blow you away. So, the next time you renew your E111 card and visit Europe, book a room at or visit one of these outstanding hotels:

    Icehotel: Jukkasjärvi, Sweden

This hotel was one of the first of its kind and to this day is known as one of the world’s most extraordinary hotels. Made entirely out of ice, the Icehotel is rebuilt every year and is known to be one of the most stunning sights in the world. Bring some heavy duty thermal clothing when you stay here though because the rooms are all kept at -5°C while outside temperatures can get as low as -45°C. Stay here to experience a night in a magnificent ice castle and try out husky sledding, snowmobiling, skiing, ice driving and much more.

    Inntel Amsterdam Zaandamn: Amsterdam, Netherlands

This particular hotel is one of the most impressive architectural feats you will see in your lifetime. Imagine a huge stack of traditional Zaan houses all stacked on top of each other and mish-mashed together. It’s fascinating to look at and what goes on inside is just as impressive. It has luxury rooms, a restaurant, an indoor swimming pool, a wellness club, a Finnish sauna and a gym. A stay in this hotel would be incredible for more than a few reasons.

    Ballyfin Demesne: Laois, Ireland

If you’ve ever dreamed of being in a Jane Austen novel or have wanted to know what regal life is like then this hotel is where your wish will be granted. This restored Georgian country estate has 20 rooms and is the epitome of luxury. The décor will make you feel like you’ve just stepped into the shoes of a 19th aristocrat. There are four poster canopy beds, gilded mirrors, marble bathrooms, paintings, a grand piano, tapestries and a 2,000 year old Roman mosaic in the lobby. In this hotel you have 614 acres of secluded gardens at your disposal. You can go horseback riding, go clay pigeon shooting, learn archery or falconry, or you can get out on the 28-acre lake and go fishing or simply let the butler row the boat. While a stay at this unbelievable hotel is certainly not cheap, it is most definitely impressive.

    Attrap’ Rêves: France

You’ll never think of camping the same way again after staying in this hotel. Designer Pierre Stephane Dumas took camping to a whole new level and created these amazing bubble-dwellings. In different locations in France you can sleep in an inflated bubble in the middle of a secluded glade and watch the stars. Each bubble is kept inflated by a silent blower that recycles air and inside you’ll find a comfy king-size bed, a table with chairs, a reading lamp and a bathroom with running water. The bubbles even have electricity. You can choose a completely transparent bubble or a tinted one if you want extra privacy, although the bubbles are always secluded, private and kept a safe distance apart, so there’s no worry over your privacy being invaded. You can get up close to nature in comfort and style while in the main building of the hotel, a short walk away from your bubble, you can relax in a Jacuzzi, dine in the restaurant and look through telescopes.
