It would be discretion on your part if you viewed all the churches in Paris and missed out on the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. It is held in great reverence by the Catholics according to whom, it is the site where three apparitions of the Virgin Mary appeared in the year 1830.
Prior to this church being built, the medieval Hôtel de Châtillon occupied this location. If you want your wishes to be fulfilled, visit this chapel and pray to Virgin Mary. One can also witness the body of St. Catherine, displayed in a glass case. Do not miss viewing the walls of this church that are beautifully adorned with murals and mosaics.
The white marble statue of Mary that stands over the altar was sculpted in the year 1850. Notice this statue carefully and you will observe that twelve stars crown her and that holy rays of grace emanate from her outstretched palms on to the floor.
According to folklore, the apparition of Mother Mary appeared to Saint Catherine Laboure in the year 1830. The apparition had requested the saint to create the medal, which is nowadays known as the Miraculous Medal.
Another thing worth looking is the tabernacle, a fixed and locked box, which dates back to the seventeenth century. No changes have been made to it since the year 1815.
