Costa Rica is an exceedingly beautiful beach destination. The fascinating horseshoe beaches in the country are one of the best reasons for visiting. There are some excellent water sports, including surfing, kayaking, snorkeling and diving.
There are a good number of excellent facilities.
Playa Dominical . . .
Playa Dominical is one of the best beaches in Costa Rica, if you are fond of surfing. The beach is located about forty four kilo meters from the Manuel Antonio National Park. The scenic landscapes of the Dominical region is another much vaulted attraction, with its estuaries, coastal mangroves, marshes and vast plantations.
Playa Grande Guanacaste . . .
Playa Grande is situated at the banks of the River Matapalo and is separate from Tamarindo. This is a nesting site for the Leatherback turtle, which is one of the world’s only seven marine species of turtles. The turtles lay their eggs on the beach.
Playa Conchal . . .
Playa Conchal is famous for sports fishing. The beach is located close to the Playa Brasilito.
The area is visited mainly by tourists that love fishing, rather than surfing or snorkeling. The sand here has tiny crushed shells which gives it a nice shade.
Playa Hermosa . . .
Playa Hermosa or the Hermosa Beach is an excellent place to head to if you are fond of peace and quite. Remember that there are two beaches named Hermosa, one in Guanacaste, and the other close to Jaco. Both are excellent choices.
Playa Tamarindo . . .
Playa Tamarindo is a bit on the upscale side, with a host of amenities, reasonable comforts, well developed accommodation options and more. The shopping here is also pretty good. There are some good options for dining too.
