Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Fans of Toy Story would love this outdoor ride is based on a story of you and Buzz Lightyear trying to save the universe from the evil Emperor Zurg. You climb into a space shuttle car and manoeuvre your car to shoot simulated laser cannons at Zurg. When you pull the trigger, you will release a red laser beam that you can see hitting or missing the target.

Splash Mountain

Meet Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear and Brer Fox. Enjoy songs like Zip -a – Dee- Doo- Dah from Disney’s Song of the South. Riders travel through Brer Rabbit Land of garden, swamps and caves before taking a five storey plunge and completely drenching passengers sitting in the 1st log . Teach your kids as this motion-simulator ride takes you through the human body aboard a miniaturized capsule. Your mission is to rescue a scientist who has been sucked into the circulatory system and you rush throughout the body to rescue her.

Cranium Command

This is a humorous audio-animatronic theatre show that aims to explore the workings of a 12 year old boy’s brain.

World Showcase

Have a second honeymoon with your spouse, sampling what other cultures have to offer. World showcase features the cuisine, culture, history and architecture of almost a dozen countries permanently displayed in individual national pavilions. The China pavilion features a travelogue film The Wonders of China shown on panoramic 360-degree movie screen. The highlight of the American pavilion is the American Adventure, a patriotic show featuring audio animatronics characters in a journey through American history. There is a boat ride The Maelstrom at the Norway pavilion. You board a Viking ship and brave trolls, rocky gorges, waterfall and the North Sea storm. The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is the Animal Kingdom’s significant landmark. It is magnificent and imposing. There are hundreds of carvings depicting all manner of wildlife and the interdependence of all living things. Indeed, it the most visually stunning structure found in any Disney park. It houses a humorous 3D show It’s Tough to be a Bug. The show combines tactile and visual special efforts to serve up a winner.

Festival of the Lion King

Let your family relive Simba’s adventures. This energetic stage show production is inspired by Lion King movie. It is part stage show, part parade and part circus. There is parading, acrobatics, singing, dancing and music from the movie Lion King.

Kilimanjaro Safaris

Disney has done an incredible job of replicating the sub-Saharan East African landscape. Kids board open safari vehicles and travel to a simulated African veldt habitat. Animals such as zebra, wildebeest, impala, Thomson’s gazelle, giraffe, and even rhinos roam free while predators are separated from prey and guest by hidden natural- appearing barriers.

Pangani Forest Exploration Trail

Walk through the zoological exhibit featuring animals such lowland gorillas, hippo, naked mole rat, hyenas and bird aviary.

Kali River Rapids

Bring your kids on a family adventure. Take this white water raft ride down a man-made river. The raft floats free and is washed downstream through rapids and waves. The river flows through dense rainforest, waterfalls, temple ruins and bamboo thickets and finally under the tropical canopy.

Maharaja Jungle Trek

Those who love the tropics would truly enjoy this zoological nature walk with an Asian setting and Asian animals. Animals featured are the Komodo dragon, Malayan tapir, fruit bats Bengal tiger, black buck antelope and Asian deer. Ruins of a maharaja’s palace provide the setting for the Bengal tigers. The temple ruin itself makes a compelling attraction even without animals. The trek ends with an aviary.

Dinosaur

Children love dinosaurs. Give them a treat in this prehistoric themed ride where you go back in time and arrive on the prehistoric scene just as a giant asteroid is hurling towards Earth. You try to escape from carnivorous predators, catch a dinosaur, and make your escape before the asteroid hits.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Those who love a good scream would love this a sci-fi theme indoor thrill ride. The hotel service elevator serves as the ride vehicle. It brings you to see the haunted hostelry. The tour begins innocuously but about the fifth floor things become weird. You find yourself in the Twilight Zone. Guests are subjected to special effects as they encounter horror and optical illusions. The climax of the adventure occurs when the elevator reaches the top floor and the elevator cable snaps. Indeed this is an experience to savour.

Rock n Roller Coaster

Feel your heart drop down to the ground in this rock music theme roller coaster starring aerosmith. It offers loops, corkscrews and drops. Initially, you travel through darkness just like Space Mountain, and then you experience being launched up the first hill like a jet off a carrier. This is the fastest launch acceleration of all roller coasters. When you enter the first loop you will be at twice the acceleration astronauts experience at lift off on a space shuttle. This is Disney’s wildest ride and indeed not to be missed. A must for your Disney World family vacations.

Jedi wannabes would love this motion simulator ride that is based on Star Wars movie. You travel in a runaway starspeeder lurching through time and space and dodging planets.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

Watch Indiana Jones live in action (A stunt double doing Indiana Jones stunts). The show combines special effects and pyrotechnics together with the stunts. You may even be called on stage as an extra.

The Great Movie Ride

Disney-MGM Studios Backlot Tour

Kids take a backstage studio tour to learn production technologies. Technicians at the special effects water tank explain the mechanical and optical tricks used to produce special effects like rain, a naval battle and a storm at sea. The second segment is a tram tour which brings you to production and shop buildings before stopping at the wardrobe and crafts shops where craftsmen are at work designing and creating costumes, sets and props. The tour’s highlight is Catastrophe Canyon, an elaborate special-effects movie set where as thunderstorm, earthquake, oil-field fire and flash flood are simulated. It would be a memorable family vacation.
